🌱 What's the difference between a Plant-based diet and Veganism?

To the casual observer, veganism and plant-based diets may seem like the same thing. After all, both involve avoiding animal products. However, there are some key differences between these two lifestyles. For one thing, veganism is a much stricter lifestyle than a plant-based diet. Vegans avoid all animal products, including honey and dairy, as well as any products that contain animal byproducts such as leather or silk. In contrast, a plant-based diet allows for some flexibility; while it generally focuses on plants, there is room for occasional indulgences of animal products. Additionally, veganism is typically motivated by ethical concerns for animals, while a plant-based diet may be motivated by health reasons. Finally, veganism is a lifestyle choice that extends beyond diet; vegans often avoid using any products that involve animal testing or exploitation, such as cosmetics or cleaning products. In contrast, a plant-based diet is solely focused on food choices. Ultimately, veganism and plant-based diets are two different approaches to living a more environmentally and ethically conscious life.
